Elvis,
Most always, manufacturers will not cover cracks running in grain line. They will most often cover glue joint separations, as that is considered a labor defect. The guitar has to have dried out in some way to make that crack appear. Do you have a humidifier for the guitar and do you store it in your case during the winter months? We do a lot of top cracks this time of year from the dry weather. It is not unusual for a manufacturer to deny claims on a cracked top because, even if you didn't dry your guitar out, most everyone else with a top crack did, and makers have to draw the line somewhere. A top crack should run you around $135-200 depending on the size and it should always be touched up with proper finish.

As I continue to do more research on who will do the work on my vintage Taylor that was made when they were still making guitars in their garage which has a broken headstock thanks to a
real bucking bronco. I continue to be impressed with your talents to fix broken hearts.
