Hi,
John from 3rd Coast at the Arlington Heights GC recommended your skills for reshaping my guitar neck. Its a R9 Les Paul. I would like your opinion on softening the shoulders of the neck for more elliptical shape. This should leave enough mass for a firm anchor for bends while letting my hand sit more comfortably in the neck.
Currently, the neck remains straight with no counter tension on the truss rod.
Its set up with 9′s.
Please contact me when you have the chance.
Thanx,
Vince

Vince,
We can reshape the neck without a problem. By elliptical, I am assuming you mean you want the treble side thinner than the bass side so to speak (a la Music Man Products). Or, do you mean you want to relieve the shoulders on both sides of the neck. Those necks can be a bit square for some folks. Either way, it is very do-able and we can make it look factory perfect.
Hey Robert,
Congrats on this oustanding finish work you performed on #7432H-7 J-35 with opaque top finish. A master piece of its own!
Best,
Willi
Thanks so much Willi, Robert Daniel is one of the finest repairmen in the country and no one has really heard of him. I have had the pleasure of working with him for 15 years now and he never ceases to amaze. That J35 is an outstanding guitar by the way.
