Jim,
It is always a good idea to have that crack glued up. It will most likely come back if the guitar gets a little dry. Also, the crack can cause bracing to become loose on the inside and it can effect the bridge joint as well. You don't HAVE to get it repaired, but it is a good idea if you want to take good care of the guitar.

Hi Josh, I own a Takamine EAN10C, Natural Series Acoustic/electric with a Cedar Top. About 5 years old.
I haven't been keeping it in the case with a humidifier, and it happened. The top cracked. :(

The crack goes down the center, from top to bottom of the body.
I read some internet articles by Bob Taylor on re-hydration and I've used 2 dampits over the last 9 days. The crack has closed up nicely. And the arch on the top and back have come back.
What else should I do? If anything. Should it be professionally gluded? Please provide some advise and/or repair options for me.
Thanks for your help!
Jim Costello

BTW, I contacted Takamine HQ to ask this question. They told me you guys are "the best in the country" and I should ask you for advise. I'd say that's a pretty good recommendation!
