Finish repairs are the hardest to price. All prices are subject to change. Each touch up must be evaluated by a tech at the Production shop. Please allow 3-4 weeks for all finish repairs and 60-90 days for refinishes.

1988 Martin D-12-28 which 3 Coast reset the neck, reglued braces and installed a K&K PWM.
Binding on the back lower bout has come unglued from the neck down to the bottom of the lower bout. Cost to reglue, please!

Thanks for the good word! The K and K pickups are the best. I would have to see where the binding has come off to give you a 100% estimate. Sometimes we can just do a little reglue to tack it into place, but often times, you have to use the binding glue to get it to really stick and that will eat the lacquer on the back and sides and can require pretty extensive touch up. The binding goes on the sides of the guitar before it is finished when it is manufactured and when you have to work in reverse, it can melt the finish, requiring the touch up. Most of the time, if you want it to stay put a long time and look great, it costs around $200.
How much to refinish a gibson les paul studio in mahogany to a gold top?
It is a little more expensive than a standard refin because of the gold top. Look to spend about $750 for a complete refinish with the gold top.
Can you give me a ballpark to refinish an epi ES-175 copy from sunburst to alpine white?
Refinishing a guitar with double binding in a white finish would usually run about $750. It is one of the more difficult things to refinish because of the multiple body and neck bindings. If the guitar has a polyurethane finish, that can cost a little extra because the finish is very difficult to remove.
Strange request, but what would a refinish on an old Fender 1000 pedal steel like this run, approximately?

Wow, I am not really sure, we have never done a pedal steel. Lap steel, yes, pedal steel no! If you have it completely disassembled, I imagine it should be about $850 to do the whole thing. That is just a guess, could be less, could be more. Sorry I can’t be more specific, but I would really need to see it.
I recently purchased a multi-colored swirl 7 string Ibanez body from “out of this swirled” in the UK. The body is advertised as being “ready to clear”. I would like to know how much it would cost to have the body cleared, and what type of material (Polyeurethane, Polyester, etc….) would give the most durable, non-yellowing finish.

We charge $400 to spray clear, 2 part polyurethane, wet-sand and buff. That is the most durable finish and it will not yellow. We do charge a bit more than others but our finish work is factory correct.
I have a gibson modern classic dove (ebony finish) and it hasa couple cracks on the top behind the saddle and one crack under the neck in front of the pick guard that need to be sealed which probally means refinishing the top because it is black i would also like a pick-up installed (under saddle) the guitar cracked because of climate change form ca. to michigan where i live which also left me a little fret bound also. its alot of work but the guitar is a beauty and is worth it if i can be retored by a professional and done right. Thank you hope you may be able to help me.

These are all repairs we do all the time. If you do want it to look perfect, we certainly would want to refinish the top. We can just do some touch up but it wont look perfect on black for sure. I would say the top crack and refin would run you about about $600-700. The pickup install should be about $45-50 pl;us cost of pickup (depending on what you want) and you may need some fretwork and set up work done and that should run another $100. But I imagine it will look as good as new and play even better.
Ive got a jackson RR3 its black and the finish is chipped off one of the wings can you touch that up or would you have to strip the whole body and re finish it

If the wings are chipped, we can do touch up work and make it a whole lot better. Unfortunately, the paint on that guitar is a polyurethane and it can be very difficult to touch up 100%. If you want it to look like it never happened at all, the guitar would need to be refinished. That being said, our touch up work is excellent and the repair would be 90% unnoticeable. That kind of repair, look to spend about $125-200 on touch up work (depending on the severity). If you have to have it 100% like a brand new guitar, look to spend about $625 to strip, repair any damage and refinish.

Assuming the guitar has a clear finish, look to spend about $75-100 to remove the thick poly finish and then about $600 to put a lovely nitro finish on it. If the guitar has a sunburst, look to ad another $250 (for the burst and for scraping back the binding).
I have a circa 1975 Epiphone drednought acoustic. I have been told that the sides and back are Brazilian rosewood (I have no clue). The sides and back look cloudy. So I guess I need that top coat removed and sprayed. But, I’m not sure if it is worth the cost. Should I send you photos?

I would imagine that the guitar’s back and sides are not Brazilian. It became illegal to use Brazilian Rosewood after 1969. If you can send pics I could help figure it out. Send pics to thirdcoastgutiar@gmail.com
If I wanted to add an edgeburst to a Taylor Koa dread circa 2000 what would that run? I really like the finish of Taylor’s 2011 Fall Limited Koa models. Can you replicate that look?
We sure could duplicate the edge burst, no problem. The guitar would need to have the bridge removed the neck removed and then we could pull back the clear finish, burst it and then reassemble the guitar. Look to spend about $850 plus about $25 in material.
have a 1986 Charvel Model 6, black cherry finish. Roughly how much for a refinish, same color?
